The Aiguille du Midi, rising to some 3,842 metres, is another of Chamonix’s iconic landmarks. Accessible by cable car from the town, this 20-minute trip takes you to one of the highest viewing platforms in Europe. Chamonix also boasts a proud religious heritage, with several churches and chapels dotted throughout the valley. The Church of Saint-Michel is a fine example of Savoyard architecture and is well worth a visit.
